This novel was so close to perfect. A searing look at what teenage girls can be like, and how that can affect us going into adulthood, I found this so relateable. As always, Atwood’s literary style and knack for exactly the right turn of phrase is fabulous. Atwood makes me want to write better. She explores memory, relationships, time, and what it is to be a woman. The grounding in specific time and place is so precise. Just wonderful. Before there was Mean Girls there was Cat’s Eye.
